Kainos

Our vision is to enable outstanding people to create digital solutions that have a positive impact on people’s lives. Our values aren’t abstract; they are the behaviours we expect from each other every day and underpin everything that we do. We expect everyone to display our values by being determined in how obstacles are overcome; honest when dealing with others; respectful of how you treat others; creative to find solutions to complex problems and cooperative by sharing information, knowledge and experience. These values, applied collectively, help to produce an outstanding Kainos person, team and culture.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing build, release, and monitoring pipelines for our enterprise-grade platform that provides intelligent data masking. It’s a fast-paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions without significant oversight. You’ll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with talented colleagues that will help you to learn, develop and grow.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of hands-on DevOps experience as a minimum (depending on the project autonomy) of 2 years of experience in Kubernetes/or other orchestrator in a cloud environment – preferably AWS, but experience with Azure is an added bonus.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of a production-ready Kubernetes (we use cloud-managed Kubernetes), including:

  • Deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes, including rolling updates, rollbacks, and monitoring
  • Setting up and configuring GitOps workflows using tools such as Flux or ArgoCD
  • Setting up and configuring monitoring and logging for applications running on Kubernetes
  • Implementing fault tolerance measures to ensure that our systems remain available even in the event of a failure.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration and microservices architecture
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex infrastructure issues
  • Taking ownership of your tasks from start to finish

In addition to your expertise with Kubernetes, you should feel comfortable in either AWS or Azure clouds, including:

  • Implementing and maintaining infrastructure as code using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Providing guidance and best practices for the cloud cost optimization and security
  • Running postmortem analysis and countermeasures implementation
  • Conducting disaster recovery exercises to test the resilience of our systems and identifying any areas for improvement.

Desirable:

  • Obtained mid-level certification with a public cloud provider (AWS/Azure).
  • Track record of successful deployments on AWS/Azure
  • Active participation in knowledge sharing activities, both within the team and with wider non-technical audiences.
  • We are passionate about developing people – experience in managing, mentoring and coaching junior members of staff is important

Wynagrodzenie:
